Jean A. (Moreau) Pennington, 79, of Hampton, died on March 15, 2018 at Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on September 19, 1938, in Norwich, CT, the daughter of the late Armand and Antoinette (Desaulniers) Moreau.

    Jean married Harold E. Martin Sr. on June 25, 1958 in Baltimore, MD. Together, they had five children: Donna McCormick, Nancy & Daniel Dorval, Karen Rioux, Kenneth & Lorrie Martin; all of CT, and Harold Jr. & Theresa Martin of NY.

    Jean was later married to the late Donald Pennington from 1994 until his passing in 2009.

    In addition to her children, Jean is survived by nine grandchildren: Christopher Baker, Anthony Baker, Chantelle Riley-Watson, Joshua Riley, April Santana, Rebecca Chiles, Daniel Martin, Shawn Martin, and Stephanie Rioux; and eleven great-grandchildren.

    Along with her siblings, Donald Moreau, Dennis Moreau, Edward Moreau, Denise Moreau, special brother-in-law Edward Mortimer. Jean leaves several nephews and nieces, including a very special nephew Bruce Herard, and cherished niece Diane Stone.

    Jean was predeceased by Norman Moreau, Harvey Moreau, Gloria Herard, Bernadette Mortimer, and Ted Chatel.

    For the last two years, Jean resided at Mansfield Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation, where she enjoyed talking with the staff. She was a supporter of UConn Women's Basketball and the Boston Red Sox.  She also liked watching Criminal Minds and doing word searches.  The family would like to thank all the staff at MCNR for their excellent care and compassion.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation. There are no calling hours. A celebration of Jean’s life will take place in July.
