Eva Marie Tangari

Eva Marie Tangari, age 96, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Windham Hospital in Willimantic, CT. Daughter and one of three children of the late Paul and Alma Belanger of Willimantic. She was predeceased by her brother Lionel. Eva worked many years as a popular waitress at the well-known Lindy’s Restaurant in Willimantic and in Food Service at UCONN. Eva truly lived life to the fullest, traveling with her husband Joe to Europe and taking several river and ocean cruises. She had many happy years at their home in Lakeland, FL. Eva really enjoyed cake decorating - contributing many beautiful cakes to family weddings and other occasions. She also took great pleasure in creating and making many other crafts. Most importantly she was the heart of our family, taking joy from and giving love to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Eva is survived by her husband of 66 years, Joseph Tangari; her sister, Claire LaVallee of Lakeland, FL; her children, Judy Murphy and her husband Douglas, Lawrence Tangari and his wife Helen, Joseph F. Tangari and his wife MaryAnn, Paula Beebe, Richard Tangari and his wife Susan; grandchildren, Douglas Murphy Jr, Steven Murphy Sr, Jonathan Murphy, Lawrence Tangari Jr, Matthew Tangari, Adam Tangari, Joseph M Tangari, Daniel J Tangari, Jason Beebe, Jeremy Beebe, Brian Beebe, Laura Callahan, Sarah Holewa, Ricky Palmer, Jason Flaherty; her great grandchildren, Douglas Murphy 3rd, Kaitlyn Murphy, Steven Murphy Jr, Ryan Murphy, Taylor Tangari, Tony Lyon, Teddy Say, Samuel Tangari, Rosalyn Tangari, Francesca Tangari, Katelyn Callahan, Emily Callahan, Eli Beebe, Lily Holewa, Sean Flaherty, Megan Flaherty, Ashlynn Tournas and her great great grandchildren, Madison Murphy, Ava Lyon, Zaylin Magistri.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Eva touched are invited to Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street, Willimantic, CT on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Calling Hours will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a Christian Service at 6:00 p.m.

Burial will be private at the family’s convenience.
